• Eating mindfully isn't something I did at all and today, I'm working on this. I have a tendency to eat fast. I learned this behavior from my father (food addict too) and when I think I'm eating slowly, I am for me, but then I see Bill and he's barely got through half of his meal. It's a little annoying that I've been programmed to eat fast and I wonder if this has to do with past life of hunter gather times. Regardless, it's a process that I'm working on.

The thoughts and feelings, well I mentioned some above. I take time when preparing my food and am learning to enjoy the process and start smelling the food and appreciating it more than I do currently.

Being present has made a huge difference in my life in regards to food. I do eat when I'm hungry, I also drink a lot of water throughout the day to avoid unnecessary cravings. When I started learning about foods, what they do for the body and particularly processed food and what that does to your body regarding cravings etc. I paid attention. When I go shopping for food, I shop mostly on the outer edge of the store for what we need at home.

What about you? Can you relate to what I shared or is your story different? If it's different, how so?
